The funding program „Promotion of OER at Lower Saxony universities“ of the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony focuses on the production, curating and distribution of open teaching/learning materials for higher education. The aim is to develop stronger networking in the field of OER-based teaching, to create incentives for the production of OER and to provide impetus for innovative community approaches for OER. In order to achieve this, individual and cross-university tandem projects are funded that develop subject and/or course-specific OER and at the same time act as multipliers for the dissemination of OER. Within the framework of three funding rounds, 20 OER projects have so far been funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture.
